OpenMission is an Intrepreneurs, Inc. sponsored project designed to create transactional software for the next generation of Christian Missionaries and Churches. Our goal is to create, as a community, the leading missionware and collaboration suite of transactional web applications that will support churches and missionaries of the Christian faith in fulfilling the Great Commission.
The OpenMission project seeks to accomplish this goal by providing a highly secured mission critical platform that enables the planning, staffing, funding, execution, and support of ongoing missions efforts throughout the world, locally and globally. We will embrace open standards and will work closely with others to provide the most complete, diverse and standards based missionware solution available.
What is Missionware?
Missionware refers to software programs that help missionaries work together collectively while located remotely from each other. Missionware services can include the sharing of calendars, collective writing, e-mail handling, shared database access, electronic meetings with each person able to see and display information to others, electronic payments, and other activities.
